I’m Being Bullied

If you’re being bullied, you are not alone — and it’s not your fault.
Bullying can make you feel scared, confused, or helpless, but there are safe and effective steps you can take to protect yourself and get support.

1. Tell Someone You Trust

You don’t have to face this on your own.
Speak to a parent, teacher, manager, or friend — anyone who makes you feel safe. Explain what’s been happening, when it started, and who’s involved. If you find it hard to speak, you can write it down or send a message.

If you’re in school, tell a teacher or safeguarding lead. They have a legal duty to take bullying seriously.

If it’s happening at work, talk to HR or your line manager. Workplace bullying is never acceptable and can be classed as harassment under UK law.

2. Keep a Record

Try to write down each incident — what happened, when, where, and who was involved.
If it’s online, take screenshots and save messages. This can help you show the full picture later if you need to report it.

3. Stay Safe Online

If bullying happens online:

  • Block and report the bully on each platform.
  • Avoid replying to hurtful messages — it often makes things worse.
  • Change your privacy settings so only trusted people can contact you.
  • If threats or harassment continue, report it to the police via Report Harmful Content
    or CEOP
